Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General's Green Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Physical Therapist to help patients increase strength, motion, endurance, and coordination. You will develop strong patient relationships and collaborate with physicians and staff in a patient-centered approach.

This PRN position offers varied shifts Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with limited post-5 PM hours. New grads are encouraged and will gain hands-on experience and skill advancement with each patient

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or PT certificate from an accredited program.
• Current State licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care with patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Supervise activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.

As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize various treatments to help patients increase strength, range of motion, endurance and coordination. The ideal Physical Therapist is a highly skilled and adaptable professional dedicated to restoring function, improving mobility and enhancing patient outcomes. This individual demonstrates strong critical thinking skills in evaluating and developing treatment plans while effectively collaborating with physicians, co-workers and support staff. They excel in prioritizing patient care, ensuring safety awareness/patient safety and adapting techniques to provide individualized care. Often, patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is essential. Equally important is giving patients the drive and support they need to work hard and regain their health.

This is an ideal role for a new grad who is open-minded, willing to step outside of their comfort zone and is looking to get their foot in the door. This is a great steppingstone position that will allow you to advance your skills with each patient interaction and one that can lead to a full-time role and beyond.

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying shifts, Monday-Friday, between 7:00AM – 7:30PM. Only two shifts per week will be required past 5:00PM. Hours will vary based on clinic needs.

A caregiver who excels in this role, will:

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

• Bachelor\'s Degree or certificate
• Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
• Current State licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

• Experience in a clinical area
• New grad

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
• Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
• Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient\'s arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
• Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
• Visual acuity to observe patient\'s gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
• Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
• Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient\'s description of symptoms and response to treatment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range:

• Minimum hourly: $50.00
• Maximum hourly: $50.00
