Job summary

Cleveland Clinic in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for a PRN role. You will evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions, delivering patient-first care in a healing environment within a leading academic medical center.

The position requires a PT license, BLS certification, and willingness to work 2–8 hour shifts per month up to 40 hours weekly as staffing allows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or certificate.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Five years of physical therapy experience (preferred).
• Experience in a clinical area (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and conduct prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.
• Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care while involving the patient and/or their family.
• Perform therapy interventions.
• Supervise activities of Physical Therapy Assistants, students and other caregivers.

As a Physical Therapist, you will create a healing atmosphere that enhances the Cleveland Clinic treatment experience. This is a PRN position. Caregivers in this role will work a minimum of 2 8-hr shifts per month with a maximum of 40-hrs per week based on staffing/volume needs.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Evaluate and conduct prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.

• Perform therapy interventions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
• Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
• Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
• Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
• Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
• Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
• Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $50.00

Maximum hourly: $50.00
