PeaceHealth United General Medical Center in Sedro Woolley, WA is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.

The role evaluates and treats patients, develops plans of care, collaborates with the care team, and mentors students and staff while maintaining regulatory standards and delivering high-quality rehabilitation services. Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy accredited by CAPTE or similar.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Washington.
• Basic Life Support certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan with goals based on data from records and team input.
• Provides patient treatment according to plan of care and updates plan as needed.
• Completes timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and licensure requirements.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure continuous, coordinated patient care.
• Mentors and oversees new caregivers, therapists and aides; provides clinical instruction to students.
• Participates in development of new services, quality improvement and monitoring activities.
• Attends staff meetings and professional activities as required.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $48.52 – $72.78.

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Responsible for the evaluation of patients, determining plan-of-care and goals of treatment, participating in treatment of patients within the scope of Physical Therapy. May provide oversight to therapy assistants and/or students in following the plan-of-care and treatment of patients appropriate to the age of the patient served; may provide supervision to therapy aides and/or volunteers. Works as part of a patient care team toward the best outcomes for the patient.

What you will do:

• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan and goals, using data from a variety of sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members.
• Provides patient treatment according to plan of care and modifies plan to meet patient needs, and updates plan as appropriate.
• Completes documentation accurately, timely, according to regulatory and state licensure requirements, and within professional standards.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients. May act as a liaison with nursing, medical and other therapy staffs to facilitate problem solving and coordination of other services and act as an educational resource.
• May mentor and provide oversight to new caregivers, physical therapist assistants, and/or therapy aides. Provides clinical instruction and training to students.
• Recommends and participates in development of new services and programs, quality improvement and monitoring activities.
• May participate in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities.

What you bring:

Education

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree Required: Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted)
• Required: Physical Therapist License State of Washington
• Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support

Working Conditions

• Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
• Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
• Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
• Lifting (non-patient)/carrying occasionally up to 25 lbs.
• Push/Pull: 1-25 lbs. of force occasionally (i.e., moving equipment).
• Stooping/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling occasionally.
• Rehabilitation staff working with patients with rehabilitation goals involving bed mobility, transfers and gait may use other appropriate and approved safe techniques and equipment in the course of the rehabilitation process if determined clinically appropriate.
• Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
• Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
• Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
