Job summary

PeaceHealth United General Medical Center in Sedro Woolley, WA is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. Salary range is $48.52 – $72.78 per hour, with hiring bonus and relocation assistance possible.

The role involves evaluating patients, determining plan-of-care and goals, and contributing to a team approach to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Supervisory opportunities may be available for experienced staff and students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy accredited by CAPTE (foreign equivalent accepted).
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Washington.
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan and goals, using data from patient records, interviews, observation, and team members.
• Provides patient treatment according to plan of care and modifies plan to meet patient needs, and updates plan as appropriate.
• Completes documentation accurately and timely per regulatory and state licensure requirements and professional standards.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuous care and serves as liaison with nursing, medical and therapy staff.
• Mentors and provides oversight to new caregivers, therapists, and aides; provides clinical instruction to students.
• Recommends and participates in development of new services, quality improvements and monitoring activities.
• Participates in staff meetings and inservices.

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Responsible for the evaluation of patients, determining plan-of-care and goals of treatment, participating in treatment of patients within the scope of Physical Therapy. May provide oversight to therapy assistants and/or students in following the plan-of-care and treatment of patients appropriate to the age of the patient served; may provide supervision to therapy aides and/or volunteers. Works as part of a patient care team toward the best outcomes for the patient.

What you will do:

• Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan and goals, using data from a variety of sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation, and team members.
• Provides patient treatment according to plan of care and modifies plan to meet patient needs, and updates plan as appropriate.
• Completes documentation accurately, timely, according to regulatory and state licensure requirements, and within professional standards.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients. May act as a liaison with nursing, medical and other therapy staffs to facilitate problem solving and coordination of other services and act as an educational resource.
• May mentor and provide oversight to new caregivers, physical therapist assistants, and/or therapy aides. Provides clinical instruction and training to students.
• Recommends and participates in development of new services and programs, quality improvement and monitoring activities.
• May participate in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities.

What you bring:

Education

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree Required: Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education or closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted)
• Required: Physical Therapist License State of Washington
• Required: Upon Hire Basic Life SupporT

Working Conditions

• Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
• Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
• Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
• Lifting (non-patient)/carrying occasionally up to 25 lbs.
• Push/Pull: 1-25 lbs. of force occasionally (i.e., moving equipment).
• Stooping/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling occasionally.
• Rehabilitation staff working with patients with rehabilitation goals involving bed mobility, transfers and gait may use other appropriate and approved safe techniques and equipment in the course of the rehabilitation process if determined clinically appropriate.
• Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
• Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
• Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
