Job summary

Mercy Orthopedic Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team. This role provides evaluation, treatment, and rehab services for adult and geriatric patients recovering from orthopedic and neurologic conditions, with supervision of Rehab Technicians and PT Assistants.

You will develop individualized plans of care, collaborate with physicians, and help patients regain mobility and independence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Current Missouri Physical Therapist license or eligibility for Missouri licensure.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Six months to one year of Physical Therapy experience in a rehabilitation, hospital, or orthopedic setting.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations following physician referral and department standards.
Provide skilled PT interventions, including therapeutic exercise, mobility training, and balance work.
Supervise Rehabilitation Technicians and Physical Therapist Assistants in line with Missouri Practice Act.
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and expected progress.
Document patient progress, goals, and treatment outcomes and communicate with the care team.
