Job summary

A leading healthcare provider is looking for a Physical Therapist to work weekends at Bethesda Butler Hospital. This role involves evaluating patients, planning therapeutic interventions, and ensuring a collaborative approach to care. Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree, possess state licensure, and have Basic Life Support certification. The position offers supplemental pay for weekend work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and provide therapeutic interventions as part of a team.
  • Supervise assistants and contribute to program development.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure effective time management.
  • Provides comprehensive evaluation, therapeutic management, goal modification, patient/family education, ongoing discharge planning and referral for appropriate professional programs, periodic re-assessment, and develops goal-driven treatment plans considering age, education, family support and cultural/psychosocial issues.
  • Maintains all required documentation within time frames and guidelines established by the department.
  • Maintains established departmental productivity levels, and manages time effectively.

We are looking for an optional Physical Therapist to work weekends at Bethesda Butler hospital including intermittent holiday coverage. Candidate should also be open to weekday coverage as schedule allows.

Job Overview

Evaluates patients, plans for and provides therapeutic interventions in a transdisciplinary/team approach. Responsible for the communication and coordination of treatment programs with other team members including the patient/family. Directly supervises assistants, interns and other support personnel, participates in program developments, continuous improvement and clinical education; and provides in‑services to staff, hospital personnel and the community. Will also be expected to be a member of a collaborative team which is patient‑focused, functional‑outcome–based and patient/family centered.

Job Responsibilities

Contributes to department/center program development through involvement in continuous improvement, special projects, or program coordinator. Contributes to the department through presenting and implementing new treatment technique/procedure, group treatment idea, student supervision, request for new equipment, team participation, and other areas approved by management.

Furthers knowledge base, technical skills, treatment techniques, and professional development by attending continuing education offerings, independent reading, hands‑on practice, individual training sessions, etc. Areas could also include: special interest groups, district meetings, post‑graduate work, seminars, awareness of scope of practice laws and regulations, or other professional activities.

Provides comprehensive evaluation, therapeutic management, goal modification, patient/family education, ongoing discharge planning and referral for appropriate professional programs, periodic re‑assessment, and develops goal‑driven treatment plans taking into consideration the patient's age, educational level, family support and cultural and psychosocial issues.
