Job summary

OrthoVirginia is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to support patient evaluation, education, and discharge in our Same Day Ambulatory Surgery Center for total joint procedures. This outpatient setting provides 1:1 care to patients recovering from surgery and preparing for same-day discharge.

The role guarantees 20-25 hours per week with hours varying by daily surgical volume. No nights, weekends, or holidays are required, and the package includes CEU reimbursement and 401(k) incentive

Qualifications

  • BS, MS, or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Physical Therapist license.
  • Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms.
  • Diagnoses movement dysfunction and develops a treatment plan.
  • Teaches patients how to properly use therapeutic exercise techniques.
  • Educates patient and families on injury prevention and post-operative care.
  • Assists patients with the use of equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers.
  • Maintains patient records and documents goals and progress.
