We are currently seeking a part‑time experienced Physical Therapist to handle patient evaluation, education, and discharge from a Same Day Ambulatory Surgery Center for total joints. Position Summary

In the setting of an outpatient surgical center, the Physical Therapist will provide high‑quality services to patients immediately recovering from surgery and seeking to be discharged home same day. The therapist will provide patients with preoperative education prior to surgery and then conduct evaluation and treatment services immediately following the procedure to assist in regaining function and ensuring readiness for discharge.

Primary Functions & Accountabilities
  • Consults with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms
  • Diagnoses movement dysfunction and develops a treatment plan
  • Teaches patients how to properly use therapeutic exercise techniques
  • Educates patient and families on injury prevention and post‑operative care
  • Assists patients with the use of equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers
  • Assesses patient individualized needs for accessing home environment
  • Maintains patient records and documents goals and progress
  • Schedules patients effectively for best time utilization
  • Interprets and organizes evaluation and assessment data
  • Utilizes knowledge of patient’s diagnosis, signs, and symptoms presented and results of diagnostic studies to determine the patient’s level of function
  • Sets priorities and establishes realistic short‑term goals and long‑term outcomes
  • Documents and maintains a plan of care for each patient which includes specific physical therapy orders in coordination with the medical plan of care
  • Communicates the plan of care in formal and informal communication
  • Appropriately utilizes the capabilities of personnel in assignment of self and team members

  • Must be able to collaborate with other patient care team members

Position Requirements
  • BS, MS or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
  • Current Physical Therapist license and current CPR required
