Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required.
• MA Physical Therapist license required; licensure criteria for 2016+ applicable.
• 1-2 years internship or apprenticeship experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Strong problem solving, case management, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and plans patient care to restore physical functioning.
• Evaluates effects of treatment and adjusts plans to maximize benefit.
• Supervises PTAs according to policy and state regulations.
• Discusses evaluation, goals, and treatment with patient and family.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build strong clinical skills across the full continuum of care, supporting patients from their first moments in the ED through their recovery in outpatient therapy.We are committed to developing therapists and enhancing our ability to care for hospital and ED patients. Your schedule will include structured mentorship modeled on the one year Massachusetts APTA mentorship program, along with dedicated professional development time. You will also have the opportunity to attend at least one EPSIG event and one APTA Massachusetts event such as the Fall Conference, SIG programs, or district events.Our outpatient caseload includes orthopedic, sports, geriatric, vestibular, and neurologic conditions. Restores Patient Physical Functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment goals and plans; administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities and in using assistive and supportive devices.Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required.
