Summary

UNC Hospitals Rehabilitation Services is accepting applications for a per-diem Acute Care Physical Therapist I position. Supporting our Enhanced Rehabilitation program in the acute hospital setting, the PT I will provide consultations and therapeutic interventions to a diverse patient population. The role involves collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, facilitating functional improvement and discharge planning.

The candidate will assist in implementing unit-based care team models to improve patient outcomes. Excellent time management and communication skills are required; clinical experience in acute care is preferred. A strong work ethic and growth-oriented mindset are essential.

Responsibilities

1. Perform PT evaluations, set treatment goals, and adjust plans based on patient progress.
2. Manage resources for treatment plans.
3. Document in medical records per guidelines.
4. Manage caseload efficiently.
5. Supervise and teach PT students or staff, providing feedback and performance evaluations.
6. Coordinate clinical programs based on patient needs, technologies, and regulations, communicating regularly with physicians and team members.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in North Carolina.
• BLS certification.
• No prior experience required.
