Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients in inpatient and/or outpatient settings as part of the Rehabilitation Services team. The role collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team and may include teaching and administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAPTE accredited program in Physical Therapy or equivalent and B.S. degree.
• No experience required. One (1) to two (2) years' experience in an academic/large medical center based practice preferred.
• Experience working with children and/or adults depending on the assigned setting.
• Clinical experience with a variety of diagnoses to include post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic, and traumatic.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician referrals to perform basic clinical evaluations.
• Utilize assistant and support staff and volunteers appropriately in patient care.
• Delegate responsibility to therapy assistants, students and support staff with supervision and documentation review/co-signature.
• Maintain concise and accurate patient care documentation and billing per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in professional development and stay informed of current developments in the field.
• Use equipment safely and report malfunctions; take corrective action as needed.
