Qualifications

• Licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (PTEs).
• Experience in acute care settings or Home Health is preferred but not required.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality about protected information.
• Ability to solve problems independently and confidently using analytical thinking.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and policies.
• Strong written communication and report-writing abilities.
• Effective communication with diverse backgrounds and educational levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments to determine functioning level, including OASIS when appropriate.
• Gather background data, review referrals, select and modify evaluation tools, and evaluate patients’ physical and psychosocial functioning.
• Develop and revise the plan of care in consultation with the physician and care team.
• Plan, evaluate, and implement treatment for an assigned caseload.
• Prepare clinical progress notes and evaluate outcomes.
• Supervise therapy assistants and home health aides as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families about safe use and adaptive equipment installation.

Physical Therapist (PT) Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adheres to CMS guidelines by providing initial and ongoing assessments to determine the level of functioning, including OASIS assessment at appropriate time points.
• Gathers background data, reviews referrals, selects and modifies evaluation tools, and evaluates patients determining the level of patient’s physical and psychosocial functioning.
• Develop and revise the plan of care in consultation with the physician and other care team members.
• Responsible for planning, evaluation, and treatment implementation of an assigned caseload.
• Preparing clinical progress notes and evaluating outcomes.
• Supervising therapy assistants and home health aides as appropriate.
• Educate patients and/or families about proper safe use and recommend methods for the installation of adaptive equipment.

Physical Therapist (PT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Currently licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Physical Therapy (PT) Examiners.
• Experience in acute care settings or Home Health is preferred but not required.
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality about protected and sensitive information.
• Must be able to solve problems independently and confidently by applying analytical and logical thinking.
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret reports, general business directives, policy and procedure statements, and governmental regulations.
• Able to write reports and correspondence at a professional level.
• Able to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying educational levels.
