Job summary

Mercy seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to assess adults and geriatric patients under Therapy Leadership, delivering objective assessments and personalized treatment programs. You will supervise patients directly and oversee rehabilitation technicians, with general supervision of PT assistants as per State Practice Acts.

Qualifications

• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current before independent patient care.
• Six months to one year rehabilitation PT experience preferred for adult/geriatric care.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• Provide general supervision of PT assistants in line with State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Experience:
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
