Job summary

Mercy seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist to conduct objective assessments and create comprehensive treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients in a compassionate Mercy setting.

You will supervise patients directly and rehab technicians, with oversight of PT assistants as allowed by State Practice Acts, aligned with Mercy standards and mission.

Qualifications

• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certification required; current before independent patient care.
• Six months to one year rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans for adults and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; oversee PT assistants as per state laws.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Experience:
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
