Job summary

Texas Health Rockwall is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our Physical Therapy Department. This full-time role offers a flexible schedule, 32 hours weekly, with 4 or 5 days and occasional weekends.

You will perform assessments, establish care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care in an inpatient setting. Qualified candidates will have a PT degree, Texas PT license upon hire, BCLS certification, and 2 years inpatient/acute care experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Physical Therapy.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient/acute care experience preferred.
• Texas PT license required upon hire; BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Obtains physician order for therapy and validates appropriateness.
• Sets measurable goals with timeframes addressing identified problems.
• Performs age-appropriate patient treatment.
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel about patient care issues.
• Demonstrates professional accountability and individualized care.

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program is required
• 2 years of experience in inpatient/acute care is strongly preferred.
• PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire is required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required

What You Will Do

• Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
• Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
• Sets appropriate, measurable, functional goals with time frames to address the identified problems including patient/family goals and preferences
• Performs age appropriate patient treatment
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
• Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
• Demonstrates Professional accountability
