Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist evaluates patients, plans, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. The Physical Therapist demonstrates proficient clinical knowledge and skills in delivering care to assigned age-specific patient populations within an interdisciplinary team environment. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, and upholds standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates appropriate clinical skills through comprehensive evaluations and development of individualized treatment plans to achieve functional goals.
- Performs patient care across various hospital settings—Outpatient, Inpatient, Sub-acute, and Wound-care—in all Pipeline Health Hospitals.
- Uses excellent communication skills to educate and engage patients in their own care.
- Collaborates with other disciplines, patients, and families. Responsible for supervising Physical Therapy Assistants and students if applicable.
- Makes discharge recommendations and coordinates follow-up with vendors or support personnel to ensure patient safety.
- Consults with providers and allied health professionals on occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Participates in department and multidisciplinary meetings, reviewing minutes if unable to attend.
- Prepares and maintains accurate patient documentation, including EMR, charges, and logs.
- Delegates and follows up on patient cases with aides, students, and restorative staff.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with coworkers, patients, and external customers, utilizing AIDET principles.
- Acts with urgency in task performance.
- Maintains department organization and reports equipment or environmental issues for repair.
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols, escalating safety concerns when necessary.
- Completes required training and performs other duties as assigned.
Administrative Duties:
- Ensures departmental operations are efficient and standards are met.
- Coordinates therapy scheduling and manages patient caseloads.
- Monitors equipment and supplies, participates in staff recruitment and training, and assists with budget planning.
- Implements quality improvement initiatives and acts as liaison with hospital administration.
- Prepares reports and maintains departmental records, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

Experience:
- At least one (1) year of current experience in an acute care setting.
- Strong critical thinking, service excellence, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
- Ability to learn, synthesize information, make judgments, work independently, and prioritize patient and family needs.
