Job summary

Award Care Health Group in Florida is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our family-like team. You will help plan, implement, and evaluate therapy services and programs for residents, aiming to improve mobility and quality of life in a caring, collaborative environment.

The role requires graduating from an approved School of Physical Therapy, at least three months of nursing home experience preferred, and a Florida Physical Therapy license with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Physical Therapy.
• Minimum of three months experience as a Physical Therapist in a nursing home setting preferred.
• Florida Physical Therapy License and CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluation and direction our physical therapy service as well as it programs and activities as direct.
• Assist in interpreting physical therapy policies and procedures to personnel residents, family members, etc. as necessary.
• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessment.
• Initiate individual restorative program for residents in conjunction with the residents’ plan of care.
• Brief resident of procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare necessary equipment.
• Reassure resident before and during therapy treatment.
• Be alert to resident’s response to treatment and notify therapist if required.
• Assist residents in ambulatory training as directed.
• Demonstrate to resident and nursing personnel the use of medical appliances involved in physical therapy.

Major Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of School of Physical Therapy

Experience:

• Minimum of three months recent experience as a Physical Therapist working in a nursing home environment preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• State of Florida Physical Therapy License

• CPR Certification
