Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist for a school-based role in Texas. You will evaluate student needs, conduct PT assessments, and collaborate with families, educators, and district staff to promote access and independence in the educational environment.

You will design individualized therapeutic interventions with the IEP team, provide direct therapy or supervise PTAs, and track progress to inform IEP reviews and service planning.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program or equivalent.
  • Active License by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Your Role:

As a school-based Physical Therapist, you’ll play a key role in helping students improve their mobility, access their educational environment, and achieve greater independence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluate Needs: Conduct comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluations using standardized tools, observations, and student-centered assessments to determine the need for specialized services in alignment with Texas education standards.
  • Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents, educators, and district personnel, offering clear, actionable recommendations that promote students’ access to education and functional independence.
  • Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to design evidence-based, individualized therapeutic interventions that address student‑specific needs, support functional goals, and enhance participation in the educational environment.
  • Provide Therapy: Deliver direct therapy services or supervise licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in implementing IEP goals.
  • Monitor Progress: Collect, analyze, and document student progress data, maintaining detailed and accurate records that inform IEP reviews and ongoing service planning.
  • Support Teams: Actively participate in ARD meetings, parent‑teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students and contribute to the enhancement of special education programs.
