Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is seeking a school-based Physical Therapist to help students improve mobility, access classrooms, and participate fully in education. You will conduct evaluations, develop IEP-aligned interventions, and deliver or supervise therapy services.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active license by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Needs: Conduct comprehensive Physical Therapy evaluations using standardized tools, observations, and student-centered assessments to determine the need for specialized services in alignment with Texas education standards.
  • Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents, educators, and district personnel, offering clear, actionable recommendations that promote students’ access to education and functional independence.
  • Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the IEP team to design evidence-based, individualized therapeutic interventions that address student-specific needs, support functional goals, and enhance participation in the educational environment.
  • Provide Therapy: Deliver direct therapy services or supervise licensed Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in implementing IEP goals.
  • Monitor Progress: Collect, analyze, and document student progress data, maintaining detailed and accurate records that inform IEP reviews and ongoing service planning.
  • Support Teams: Actively participate in ARD meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for students and contribute to the enhancement of special education programs.
