Summary:

Evaluate patients and develop physical therapy treatment programs in collaboration with physicians. Provide physical therapy treatments, including therapeutic exercises, massages, and modalities. Instruct, motivate, and assist patients and caregivers in activities of daily living. Supervise and direct efforts of the Physical Therapy Assistant, if assigned.

Education & Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. Current state license/registration as a Physical Therapist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish, implement, and evaluate treatment programs, plans of care, goals, and discharge plans in conjunction with the physician.
• Provide direct patient care to ensure the effectiveness of Physical Therapy programs.
• Apply heat, light, water, and electrical treatments/modalities as prescribed and with proven competency.
• Plan and prioritize treatments to maximize efficiency while meeting patient needs.
• Ensure orders are carried out professionally, respecting ethics, patient rights, and regulations.
• Facilitate effective communication among care providers.
• Coordinate with other healthcare providers involved in the patient's care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and maintain communication with all involved disciplines.
• Adhere to the company's mission, purpose, and philosophy.
• Maintain high ethical standards, integrity, and honesty in all business practices.
• Take initiative and responsibility for decisions, supporting personal and organizational goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants in accordance with policies and laws.

Physical Demands:

Lift up to 50 pounds, perform transfers, reposition patients, and perform repetitive upper extremity movements. May be exposed to unsanitary conditions and high-crime areas.
