JOB SUMMARY:
Assists Physical Therapist with all patient treatments for in-patients, outpatients, and contract services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a clinical rehabilitation setting and resident rooms, requiring contact with staff, physicians, families, and the public. The role involves walking up to 95% of the workday and requires the ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds. Finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and normal vision and hearing are necessary.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Requires knowledge of Physical Therapy typically obtained through a two-year degree from an accredited school for Physical Therapist Assistants. Must possess a New York State license or temporary license to practice. Skills needed include effective chart review, patient communication, procedure implementation, and documentation. Interpersonal skills are essential for accurate communication with patients and families, understanding patient condition changes, and reporting to supervisors.
