Rehab In Motion is expanding in Charlottesville, VA, seeking an experienced Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN role at The Barclay at Charlottesville. You will provide one-to-one therapy under supervision, focusing on strength, mobility and independence for aging populations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
• Current PTA license/certification in practice state.
• CPR certification and communicable disease screening requirements.
• TB test completed (two-step) prior to assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in treatment interventions.
• Administer therapeutic exercises to improve strength and mobility.
• Document training results and patient progress.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and coordinate with the team.
• Support treatment plans and report status changes to the care team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Physical Therapist in the implementation of treatment intervention
• Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients; strength, mobility and function.
• Providing training to individuals and any others involved in their rehabilitation, and documenting results of the training
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records
• Supporting individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the multi‑disciplinary team members as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice.
• Current Live CPR Certification
• Two‑step TB skin test required
• Proof of Auto Insurance
• Knowledge of evidence‑based therapy interventions
• Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics and/or home health
• One year preferred
• New grads encouraged to apply
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/standing for extended periods
• Additional physical requirements include: pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times
• A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations to verify employee is physically capable of performing assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations
