Job summary

Full Distance Physical Therapy & Wellness at Mariners Landing is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. You will provide individualized, one-on-one PT under a licensed PT and help patients regain function and confidence in a supportive setting.

We offer flexible scheduling—part-time, full-time, and PRN—along with a collaborative team, continuing education support, and a clinic culture that values patient-centered care and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current, active Virginia PTA license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient-centered approach and genuine interest in helping patients achieve goals.
• Dependability and ability to work collaboratively with a supervising PT.
• Experience in outpatient orthopedics, geriatrics, or neurological rehab is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed PT.
• Implement established plans of care to improve strength, mobility, balance, and function.
• Work with patients across orthopedic, neurological, and age-related diagnoses.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and home programs.
• Communicate with supervising PTs and team members for coordinated care.
• Complete timely documentation per company policies.

What You'll Do

• Provide individualized, one-on-one physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Implement established plans of care to help patients improve strength, mobility, balance, function, and overall quality of life.
• Work with patients across a variety of diagnoses, including orthopedic, neurological, and age-related conditions.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, functional activities, and strategies that support progress outside the clinic.
• Communicate with supervising physical therapists and other team members to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Help create a welcoming, encouraging clinic environment where patients feel supported throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Contribute to the growth and success of the clinic through positive patient experiences, professional collaboration, and participation in team initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current, active Virginia PTA license.
• Current CPR certification.
