Job summary

Mission Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for home health in the Portland, Oregon area. The role involves delivering direct physical therapy under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, managing pain, restoring function, and guiding patients through gait and functional training in a home health setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an accredited PTA associate degree, be licensed or certified as required by Oregon law, and maintain current BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an associate degree.
• Current Physical Therapy certification or license as required by state law.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy according to the directions of Physical Therapist and the plan of care.
• Treat patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training, and transfer activities.
• Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observe and report patient responses and changes in condition to the PT and staff.
• Instruct patients in care and use of mobility aids and orthotic devices.

Pay range: $41-$45/hour, depending on experience

Schedule/Shift: Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM

Territory/Location: Gresham and surrounding area

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct physical therapy according to the directions of Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care.
• Treat patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents, including, but not be limited to heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.
• Observe and report to the Physical Therapist and organization personnel the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.
• Instruct patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program with an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
• Current Physical Therapy certification or license as required by state law.
• Current BLS, hands-on CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable, insured vehicle.
