Job summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Trilogy Health Services collaborates with Physical Therapists to deliver therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting. You will implement treatment plans, document patient progress, and educate patients and families on exercises and home strategies.

Licensed PTA with CPR (preferred) and an Associate Degree are required. Travel is minimal, with positions located in Zanesville, OH.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required for PTA practice.
• Must hold a current PTA license/ certification.
• Current CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including exercises and modalities.
• Observes patient responses and documents progress for supervising PT.
• Provides instructions to patients and families on exercises and home progress.
• Supports PTs in evaluating patient needs and progress.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient care.

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the direction of a Physical Therapist, is responsible for providing therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.

• Implements treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
• Observes patient responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Observes and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provides instructions to patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home.
• Supports Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate Degree

Experience: 0-1 years

Licenses and Certifications

Must have and maintain a current, valid state PTA licensure or certification

Current valid CPR certification, preferred

Travel: Yes. Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)
