Job summary

Plaza West Healthcare & Rehab in Topeka, KS is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to assist with patient treatment under supervision of a licensed physical therapist and in accordance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

You will provide direct treatment, document progress, teach residents and caregivers, and help with orthotic devices; the role supports care plans and compliance with regulations; shift may require varied hours and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree completion from an APTA accredited program is required.
• Licensed as Physical Therapist Assistant is required to practice in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct treatment to residents as directed by and according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Documents resident progress towards meeting established goals.
• Teaches exercises to residents, family members, and caregivers and may provide instruction in the use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

PTA PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
