Job summary

Gem City Nursing & Rehab is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. We offer full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities across our rehab program.

You will provide direct treatment, document progress, educate residents and families, and ensure compliance with regulatory documentation. A PTA license and an accredited Associate degree are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an APTA-accredited PTA program.
• Current license as Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
• Ability to follow a plan of care under supervision of a PT.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct treatment to residents as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document resident progress toward established goals.
• Teach exercises to residents, families, and caregivers; instruct on use of orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assistive devices.
• Complete forms and documents in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations.

PTA SUMMARY

• Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist with a patient's treatment program in accordance with federal guidelines and state practice acts.

We are looking for FT, PT and PRN.

PTA ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides direct treatment to residents as directed by and according to the plan of care outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Documents resident progress towards meeting established goals.
• Teaches exercises to residents, family members, and caregivers and may provide instruction in the use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assisting apparatus.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

PTA ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree from an APTA accredited program
• Licensed as Physical Therapist Assistant

PTA PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

• Shift work may be required. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear.
• Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

PTA OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Participates in (or conducts) company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of resident’s
