Job summary

Jeffrey & Susan Brudnick Center for Living is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide hands-on therapy under a Physical Therapist. The role focuses on improving residents’ strength, mobility, balance, and independence in a supportive, care-focused environment.

The PTA will assist with transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic activities, ensuring safety and dignity. Strong English communication skills are essential to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and document

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on physical therapy treatments and exercises under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to improve residents' strength, mobility, balance, and functional independence.
• Assist residents with transfers, ambulation, positioning, and therapeutic activities while promoting safety, dignity, and confidence.
• Monitor residents' progress and communicate changes in functional status, tolerance, or condition to the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team.
• Accurately document treatments, resident responses, and progress in accordance with care plans, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.

$30.00 - $43.00/hour, based on experience PRN

Qualifications for Success:

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Massachusetts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, resident-centered approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physical therapists, nursing staff, residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or a similar healthcare setting preferred
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English - both verbally and written
