Responsibilities

• Assisting the Physical Therapist in the implementation of treatment interventions
• Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function
• Provide training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and document results
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Support individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to multi-disciplinary team members as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice
• Current Live CPR certification
• Two-step TB skin test required
• Proof of auto insurance
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions
• Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health
• One year preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply
• Ability to lift 50 pounds; moving, lifting, or transferring patients may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/standing for extended periods; additional physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently
• A health screening or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, per location policy and regulations, to verify physical capability with or without reasonable accommodations

Salary Range

USD $29.00 – $35.00 per hour.
