Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment interventions.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance strength, mobility, and function.
• Train patients and caregivers, documenting progress and results.
• Maintain accurate and current patient records.
• Support treatment plans by documenting and reporting patient status changes to the multidisciplinary team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program.
• Current PTA certification in the state of practice.
• CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions.
• Experience or familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health preferred.
• One year of experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures.
• Physical requirements include fine motor skills, visual acuity, and standing/walking for extended periods.
• Additional physical demands include pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, kneeling, and repositioning patients.
• A health screening may be required prior to and periodically during employment to verify physical capability.
