Qualifications

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting, adhering to professional standards and ethical practices.

Licenses and Certifications: Must hold and maintain a current, valid state PTA license or certification. CPR certification is preferred.

Education and Experience: Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program. 0-1 years of experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
2. Observe patient responses, document progress, and report findings and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
3. Maintain up-to-date documentation related to patient responses and progress.
4. Provide instructions to patients and families on exercises, safety, and strategies for continued progress at home.
5. Support Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress by providing observations and insights.
6. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
