Job summary

Synchrony Rehab in Indiana is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to work under the direction of a Physical Therapist, providing therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting. You will implement treatment plans, observe patient responses, document progress, educate patients and families on exercises, and collaborate with the team to ensure comprehensive care.

Required education: PTA degree from an accredited program; licensure in the state; CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• PTA must have degree from an accredited program.
• Must hold or obtain state PTA licensure; CPR preferred.
• 0–1 years of experience may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including exercises and modalities.
• Observe patient responses and document progress for supervising PT.
• Maintain up-to-date therapy documentation and report findings.
• Provide instructions to patients and families on exercises and safety.
• Support PTs in evaluating patient needs and progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities (e.g., heat, cold, electrical stimulation).
• Observe patient responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings and any concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide instructions to patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home.
• Support Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.
