IMC is currently looking to add a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Rehab Services team on a PRN basis. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist & the Director of Rehab Services, the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will be responsible for implementing treatment plans and providing medically necessary physical therapy to restore function, prevent disability, decrease pain, and promote healing following disease, injury, or sickness.

The PTA will help the patient reach his/her maximum potential and integrate into society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. This will be done in various settings including home health, outpatient, and inpatient. The therapist should have the knowledge and competency to provide care considering physical, psycho-social, educational, and safety concerns for neonate, infant, toddler, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

• Associates degree from an approved PTA school, or equivalent under the Grandfather clause with more than 2 years of experience in multiple settings.
• Current valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by LSBPTE.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Successful completion of long-term clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited PTA school, or at least one year of recent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice.

PRINCIPAL TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Treat patients
• Monitor and assess patients
• Reassess patients
• Assist the director of rehab with the development of policies and procedures
• Assist with scheduling of patients
• Document patient care
• Assist with daily operations of outpatient and inpatient rehab services
• Assist the PT with the delivery of services as requested
