Job summary

Crisp Regional Hospital is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in Georgia. The PTA works under a licensed PT, delivering care per the treatment plan in acute care or skilled nursing settings.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Up to one year of work-related experience, or equivalent education/training.
• Current state license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments per the PT plan in acute care or skilled nursing settings.
• Possibly work in home health as directed by department leadership.
• Communicate patient progress with the multidisciplinary team.
• Record daily treatment notes and charges accurately and timely.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care as requested.
• Meet production requirements and comply with GA State Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Uphold safety, infection control, and quality-improvement standards.
• Present a professional image to patients, staff, and visitors.
• Participate in continuing professional development and in-service training.

Job description

Under the leadership of the departmental Director and/or Manager, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is anactive member of the interdisciplinary team providing high-quality patient care. The PTA will work under thedirection and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA must be able to collaborate with otherprofessional disciplines as well as interact with the patient, family members, and significant others.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education:

Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

• Experience:

Up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training,and experience in a hospital and/or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.

• Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:

Requires a current state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Requires a current certification in Basic Life Support.

• Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists’ treatment plan in the acute care and/or skilled nursing facility setting. May provide treatments in additional settings including but not limited to home health at the discretion of the department Director.
• Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
• Records daily treatment notes and other required documentation timely and completely. Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.
• Supervises Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care and related activities as requested.
• Meeting production requirements for physical therapy rendered as defined by the organization.
• Complies with the Georgia State Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS’s efforts to provide quality care and services. Performs all associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks.
• Presents a professional image to CRHS’s co-workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.
• Attends professional development programs and in-service training and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
