Job summary

Bal Therapy LLC is expanding and seeks a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant to provide therapy with residents in the community and assisted living environments on a part-time basis.

The ideal PTA will support one-on-one sessions in homes and ALFs, focusing on improving mobility and quality of life. Virginia licensure is required, with a minimum of 20 hours weekly and a $40/hr rate.

Qualifications

• Licensed Virginia PTA in good standing or in process.
• Experience with geriatrics and home-based therapy preferred.
• Strong communication with patients and families required.

Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic exercises to improve mobility, strength, and ROM.
• Provide hands-on manual therapy to alleviate pain and promote healing.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise techniques.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team for coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of progress.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has prior experience in geriatrics and is currently licensed in the state of Virginia, or in the immediate process of receiving it. They are motivated to help improve balance and strength deficits and are comfortable in home and assisted living environments.

Responsibilities

• - Implement therapeutic exercises and techniques to improve patients' mobility, strength, and range of motion
• - Provide hands-on manual therapy, including trigger point therapy, to alleviate pain and promote healing
• - Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for home exercises and self-care
• - Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• - Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of progress and treatment outcomes

Requirements

• - Valid Virginia state Physical Therapist Assistant license
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• - Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
• - Available a minimum of 20 hours a week.
