Required Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted license in your therapy discipline in the state.
• Meet educational requirements for licensure.
• Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines related to long-term care.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in physical therapy practices and activities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Implement treatment plans established by the physical therapist, following guidelines from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), state laws, and regulations.
• Record resident progress and request reexaminations if needed.
• Collaborate with physical therapists by offering suggestions, providing feedback, and executing agreed activities.
• Perform physical examinations to update therapy histories and ensure appropriate treatment tracks.
• Document physical therapy services accurately in the resident's medical record.
• Follow facility policies for documentation and billing purposes.
• Coordinate therapy sessions with nursing staff as instructed.
• Other duties as assigned.
