Physical Therapist Assistant - In-House - PRN

Position: Physical Therapist PRN - In House

Required Qualifications:

• License to practice Physical Therapy within the state
• Successful completion of the National Certification Examination for Physical Therapists
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatrics is preferred
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and compassion for elderly patients
• Ability to work cooperatively with healthcare professionals

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Optimize patients' physical abilities by supervising therapy staff, initiating referrals, evaluating and treating patients, complying with procedures, participating in care planning, documenting progress, and communicating patient needs.
• Conduct patient screenings to determine intervention needs.
• Establish patient schedules with team members.
• Develop treatment plans with goals and methods.
• Coordinate treatment plans with patients, families, and team members.
• Implement and conduct treatments as outlined.
• Monitor patient responses and modify treatments to meet goals.
• Create home or community programs to support patient performance.
• Document assessments, treatments, follow-ups, and service terminations.
• Adapt treatments to individual needs.
• Provide, recommend, or fabricate adaptive devices, orthotics, or prosthetics, and train patients and staff in their use.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
