Job summary

Shawnee Gardens Healthcare & Rehab Center seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support licensed therapists in delivering rehabilitation services. You will guide patients through exercises, monitor progress, and adjust treatments in collaboration with the therapy team.

The role requires an associate degree in physical therapy, current state licensure, and strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate care and educate patients and families about treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Instructs, motivates, safeguards, and assists patients with exercises or activities.
• Observes patients and reports progress to the physical therapist.
• Collaborates with staff to plan, modify, and coordinate treatment.
• Transports and positions patients safely for therapy sessions.
• Administers manual and modality therapies as prescribed.
• Measures joint motion and vital signs to assess effects of treatment.
• Monitors equipment use and records treatment data.
• Assists with fitting braces or assistive devices as needed.
