Physical Therapist Assistant, Home Health

Job Details

Location: Portsmouth and Suffolk areas

Schedule: Flexible daytime schedule, 40 hours/week

Pay Range: $58,400 - $80,000 per year; pay per visit/unit: $37 - $52

Responsibilities

• Administer physical therapy treatments as developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Perform manual therapeutic exercises, massage, traction, heat, cold, water, and electrical modalities.
• Document client records and submit paperwork timely.
• Attend educational meetings and contribute to department in-services.
• Notify supervisor of equipment failures, supply shortages, and client or staff changes.
• Schedule clients and perform office tasks.
• Apply infection control and universal precautions.
• Accept clinical assignments suited to your education and competence.
• Promote compliance with third-party payers through education and coaching.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-accredited program.
• Current state license to practice Physical Therapy.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation.
• Proof of current CPR certification.
• Minimum two years experience as a PTA.
• Knowledge of geriatric population changes.
• Self-directed, enthusiastic, receptive to feedback.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Meet continuing education requirements and maintain licensure.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel locally.
• Maintain confidentiality and a professional attitude.
• Fluent in English, good attendance.
