Responsibilities include providing PT treatments under a licensed therapist, documenting progress, and ensuring safety by stopping harmful procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license or eligible for license in Maryland.
• Experience in long-term or sub-acute settings.
• Membership in APTA preferred.
• Ability to follow therapist directions and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments to residents according to evaluations and plans.
• Exercise sound judgment and deliver effective, safe care.
• Observe, record, and report changes to the licensed therapist.
• Track need for reassessment and report changes requiring reassessment or referral.
• Maintain daily treatment records and progress notes.
• Discontinue any harmful procedures and notify staff and therapist.
• Ensure care is reviewed by the licensed Physical Therapist per regulations.
