Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Physical Therapist in delivering physical therapy services. The incumbent will perform delegated procedures, document patient progress, and coordinate department workload while ensuring patient safety and addressing age-specific needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with treatment plans, assessing pain, reporting safety issues, and providing direction to the Physical Therapy aide under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Licensed in the state of practice or holding a state-authorized temporary permit/license, where applicable.
• Entry-level acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy procedures as delegated by the supervising PT.
• Document patient progress notes.
• Coordinate workload in the department and provide technical direction to the PT aide.
• Address age-specific needs for all patients and ensure patient safety.
• Assess and address patients' pain per the department's pain management policy.
• Identify and report any patient safety issues.
• Safely and effectively perform physical therapy procedures as directed by the supervising PT.
