Job summary

FutureCare is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant in Maryland to implement treatment plans and educate residents and families on continued care. The role is highly hands-on, requiring empathy and strong communication with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience in long-term or sub-acute settings preferred.
• Active membership in the state and national APTA.
• Ability to follow therapist directions and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT treatments to residents per evaluations and plans.
• Exercise sound judgment to deliver effective care.
• Observe, record and report changes to the licensed PT.
• Track reassessment needs and status changes.
• Maintain daily treatment records and progress notes.
• Discontinue any harmful procedures and notify therapist.
• Ensure care review by the PT per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments to residents according to evaluations and treatment plans developed by the licensed Physical Therapist
• Exercise sound judgment and provide effective and efficient care in the performance of duties
• Observe, record, and report change in conditions, reactions and responses to the resident Physical Therapist as assigned
• Track the need for reassessment and reports changes in status that may indicate the need for reassessment or referral
• Maintain daily records of treatments and documents progress notes on residents as directed by the therapist
• Discontinue immediately any treatment procedure that appears harmful to the resident/patient and notifies the licensed physical therapist and other appropriate staff
• Ensure appropriate review of care rendered is performed by the licensed Physical Therapist according to practice regulations

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the State of Maryland
• Training or experience in long-term or sub-acute setting
• Prefer active membership in the state and national American Physical Therapy Association
• Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Physical Therapist and the policies and procedures of the facility
