Job summary

Bay Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide movement-focused therapies under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. The role aims to improve mobility, independence, and overall function, aligned with individualized care plans.

You will work within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, implement plans, educate patients and families, and document progress to meet regulatory standards.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. The goal is to help patients improve their mobility, independence, and overall functional abilities while supporting an individualized plan of care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist.
• Collaborate with members of the rehabilitation team to provide programs that are appropriate for each patient's needs and abilities.
• Assist the Physical Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex procedures as directed.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on physical therapy treatment techniques and home programs under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Document patient care and progress in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and positive environment for patients and team members.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Current license or eligibility for licensure as required by the state of practice.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered approach to care.
