Job summary

Career Links in New Mexico is seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a hospital-based rehabilitation team with an inpatient and outpatient mix. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation to patients with orthopedic, neurological, and medical conditions.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a collaborative hospital-based rehabilitation team in New Mexico. This position offers a diverse caseload across inpatient and outpatient settings and provides excellent mentorship and support for new graduates entering the profession.

Position Overview

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide evidence-based rehabilitation services to patients with a variety of orthopedic, neurological, and medical conditions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Providing skilled therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
  • Monitoring patient progress and communicating treatment responses to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Educating patients and families regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, and safety recommendations.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and departmental programs.
  • Contributing to a positive, patient-centered care environment.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting.
  • Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistant License issued by the New Mexico Physical Therapy Board, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Salary Range: $52,000 - $78,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.
