Job summary

Best Home Health Providers, Inc. is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to work with a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover at home. You will guide patients through exercises, transfers, and the use of assistive devices, applying modalities to relieve pain and restore function.

The position is per diem with a rate of $95 per visit, offering flexibility and the potential to convert to full-time based on performance. California PTA licensure and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an APTA-accredited PTA program.
• Active PTA license from the Physical Therapy Board of California.
• Current CPR certification with AHA.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable insured vehicle and willingness to travel to patient homes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, following each patient’s care plan.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, gait and transfer training, and the use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, prosthetics).
• Apply modalities including heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and massage to relieve pain and restore function.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the Physical Therapist and care team.
• Document care accurately and on time, and participate in team meetings and ongoing training.
• Perform other duties as required for patient services.
