Job summary

AVIR at French Home in San Antonio, TX seeks a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for full-time and per diem roles. Join an in-house subacute rehabilitation team dedicated to improving patients’ strength, mobility, and independence under licensed PT supervision.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas PTA license, graduated from an accredited PTA program, and have strong clinical and communication skills; experience in skilled nursing/subacute rehab is preferred. New grads are welcome.

Qualifications

• Current Texas PTA license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Experience in skilled nursing or subacute rehabilitation preferred.
• New graduates with appropriate licensure encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed PT.
• Implement individualized treatment plans to improve strength, mobility, balance, and independence.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, transfers, gait training, and mobility.
• Monitor patient responses and report progress to supervising PT.
• Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and safety recommendations.
• Collaborate with rehab and nursing teams.
• Maintain compliance with standards and regulations.

Join Our In-House Subacute Rehabilitation Team!

AVIR at French Home is an in-house subacute rehabilitation facility seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Full-time and per diem opportunities are available.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve patients’ strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and functional independence.

• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional mobility, transfers, gait training, and other appropriate interventions.

• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation.

• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and safety recommendations.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation and nursing teams.

• Maintain compliance with professional, facility, and regulatory standards.
