Job summary

LifeCare Medical Center in northern Minnesota is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support compassionate patient care across our rehabilitation services. You will work under supervision to assist with therapies, exercises, and mobility in our modern facility.

The ideal candidate has PTA education, Minnesota licensure, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and a commitment to quality care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Observes, reports, and collaborates with supervising therapists to monitor patient progress within standardized procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to support patients and families.
• Ability to organize responsibilities and maintain accurate patient documentation.

Responsibilities

• Observes, records and reports the conditions, reactions, and responses of patients/residents/clients assigned to his/her duties.
• Responsible for patient/resident/client’s personal care and environment throughout the treatment.
• Follows established procedures and observes safety precautions in the use of modalities and procedures.
• Carries out positioning and reconditioning exercises.
• Trains patients/residents/clients in specific exercises, ambulation and activities of daily living.
• Assists in measuring, fitting and training of prosthesis, orthosis, wheelchairs, ambulation devices and other assistive devices.
• Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Education Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a comparable accrediting agency.
• Licensure in the State of Minnesota.
