The PTA will administer treatments, assess muscle strength, range of motion, and other measures within an established plan of care, while following federal guidelines. California license is required; one year of clinical experience is preferred; associates degree is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
