Job summary

Visiting Rehab and Nursing Services (VRNS) is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home healthcare team in Northampton, MA. This per diem role offers flexible scheduling and competitive visit rates of $37–$50 per visit.

You will provide skilled PT services in patients' homes under the supervision of a licensed PT, promote mobility and independence, and contribute to a patient-centered care plan.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts PTA license is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of PTA clinical experience.
• Afternoon availability required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PTA services under supervision of a licensed PT.
• Perform transfer training and safe mobility techniques.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies and safety.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising PT.
• Collaborate with the care team including therapists, nurses and physicians.
• Complete accurate electronic documentation.

Your Role as a Home Care Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with VRNS, you’ll provide skilled physical therapy services directly in patients’ homes under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You’ll work closely with patients and their care teams to promote mobility, strength, independence, safety, and quality of life. Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist
• Providing transfer training and instruction in safe mobility techniques
• Educating patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies, and safety techniques
• Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Collaborating with Physical Therapists, nurses, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, physicians, and other members of the care team
• Completing accurate and timely electronic documentation

Requirements

Need to Have:

• Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
