Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: Elderwood at North Creek, 112 Ski Bowl Road, North Creek, NY
Salary: $29.23/hr - $44.00/hr
Overview
Join the rehab team at Elderwood at North Creek as a full‑time Physical Therapist Assistant. The role focuses on helping residents regain strength, confidence, mobility, and independence through skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a Registered Physical Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Therapist in planning, developing, and carrying out treatment programs and procedures for residents.
- Write observations of residents’ behavior and progress in progress notes.
- Maintain statistical records and other departmental reports as requested by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist with in‑service training programs upon request.
- Maintain supplies in good order and perform daily sanitation of equipment.
- Arrive to work on time, regularly, and in accordance with the scheduled shift; responsible for own transportation.
- Utilize electronic time‑keeping system.
- Observe and practice confidentiality of resident information and privacy during job duties.
- Follow the facility dress code, wearing the name tag at all times.
- Perform assigned duties according to service excellence standards and goals established for this position and for all staff members of the facility.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved physical therapy assistant program.
- New York State license to practice required.
- Current, valid CPR/BLS credentials.
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, team‑oriented mindset.
- Passion for helping others regain independence and confidence.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or advanced level.
